World Predictions for 2012

  • I think the Arab Israeli conflict will not be solved in the next year, I think it will take much longer than a year
  • I think the relationship between western countries and Iran will continue to get worse, and I think they will also continue to develop nuclear technology
  • North Korea will not join with South Korea and the north will continue to be the same and maybe become worse under the new leadership of Kim Jong - Un
  • The economic situation in Europe will probably get worse if Greece and other countries cannot pay off their debt and create stable governments
  • Famine in Africa will continue to get worse especially for countries like Somalia where NGO's wont even go to because of hostile groups

NSA Feedback Reflection

This simulation was an interesting experience. I feel like my group and I could have contributed a lot more, but I also learned something from this as well. I think my group could have been more active in the daily responding and sending of emails. We could have also tried to complete our goals. On my part I could have tried to motivate my group more by setting and example and being the first person to respond to and send emails. I learned that I need to be on top of work as soon as i get it, and i should've taken this simulation more seriously since the beginning.

One thing that I think i did well was conducting myself in a somewhat professional manner. For example not using slang or short form/texting terms. I think the simulation could have been better if everyone acted this way. I also think that I knew my character and his responsibilities fairly well.

In conclusion I think that this was a fun activity to do, and I also learned a lot about the Arab Israeli Conflict from participating in this simulation.

Lyrical Quote

"But we are what we are till the day we die or till we don't have the strength to go on" Rise Against

I like this quote because it can mean a couple different things. It could mean you are what you are and you can't change that and you will be the same person you were when you die as when you were born. To me this means that we should all be the best people we can because that's how we'll be for the rest of our lives. I think if everyone agreed with this quote then people would respect one another and there would be less human rights violations and more peace in the world.

Belarus Democratic Dictatorship Question

1) How do you think Lukashenko's rule has affected Belarus, and what do you think the country needs to become a democracy again?

My answer: I think with Lukashenko being the leader he will fix votes so that he never loses, and there will continue to be violence and a poor economy. What the country needs to do is stand up for what they beleive in and try to get someone other than Lukashenko to lead the country, someone that will make Belarus a true democracy.

Questions on Iran article

1) Why or why not should Canada get involved in an attack on Iran?
2) How do you think an attack on Iran would affect the Canadian economy?
3) Do you think the threat from Iran is even real, or do you think that Iran really does want to use nuclear power peacfully and not develop weapons?
